Is your home or space inviting? Does it say come in? Creating a welcoming exterior not only feels good, but invites the life force energy "chi" into your space.
Your exterior can be enhanced by utilizing all of your senses.
For example, a wind chime will play a beautiful melody as the wind blows. I actually have this one outside my home:
Ideally, you would want a curved path leading to your front door, so the chi doesn't rush in, but nourish. Beautiful plants and flowers planted along the walk are a wonderful enhancement, encouraging one to slow down and enjoy the visual beauty.
If you have a straight path, try plants, flowers, as well as potted plants to add dimension to the path.
We can't forget the "Welcome Mat". Be sure to keep it clean, and change it out or wash it as needed. A welcome mat says welcome as long as it is not dingy.
Garden flags are another great welcoming feature. I use one with a pineapple, which is a welcome sign in the south.
