Stay Afloat  -  Blog

One of my favorite things about Feng Shui is the revelation that happens by understanding the connection between our physical world and our inner world.  The ability to harness this connection for our own intentions definitely gives us a power over our lives.

As our lives continue to change, we can adapt our spaces to support us.

There are many terms frequently used in Feng Shui.  For better understanding, let's take a look at a common one, sha chi.
What is sha chi?

Sit at a table with the point, pointed right at you.  Now, sit at that same table with the flat side pointed at you.  Notice a difference?  If you are sensitive to the chi, you felt the "sha chi" when the pointed edge was facing you.  It's uncomfortable, almost feeling threatening.

These angles/knife edges can be found throughout your home.  They can be found in the homes structure, in the furniture arrangement, even a display item.

Feng Shui is strongly about feeling "safe" in your home.  Thus, we try to identify these "sha chi" areas, and impart remedies to rectify them.

Remedies need not be difficult.  Common remedies can be as simple as a plant, fabric, or arrangement of furniture.
