Symbolism

Different items, colors, and shapes can represent different elements.  The five elements consist of Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood.

Let's briefly review ways these elements can be interpreted through symbolism:

Fire

• triangles
• red, including all shades of red
  
• lamps, lights, candles
  
• animals

Earth

• squares and rectangles
• yellows and browns
• low items

Metal

• Circles and ovals
• whites and light colors
• items made of metal

Water

• Wavy lines and shapes
• dark colors, black
• glass and mirrors

Wood

• Tall items, columns
  
• Greens and blues
• Items made of wood, plants
